Technology + ???? = Why change is not always good

The confusion with the blogs is justification on the argument posed a few post ago.  This is why sometimes moving forward is actually moving backwards.  Personal face to face is in some ways better than over a skype or blog.

I wondered after the Leading With Soul yesterday would the presentation had as much impact if we blogged the idea or did this online.  Maybe for some but, overall I think not.  The human connection.  People knowing Amber and understanding her story.  People knowing Chris and seeing his passion.
Kesha sharing her spirit.  Keith allow us to share our feelings of the soul.

Technology can be wonderful but...is it taking some of our soul as well.

  1. Hi Brad,
I agree that we sometimes forget that face-to-face is much more effective for communication. At my school, it amazes me when I get an email from someone across the hall from me when I know the person is in their room. (I confess, I've done that before too.)
I wonder if the reason we do this is because we don't want the confrontation or we are just lazy.

  2. The purpose of a blog is not to replace face to face fellowship; that is by far the best way to communicate. Our purpose in the blog is to experience how one can collaborate with people from distance. That includes us, as we live at distances from each other between class sessions. For the professor, for one, it replaces your writing formal papers and handing them in. We can have a conversation about what we are reading and experiencing as a "global" community. Your blog is an indication to me about your experience. Thanks for expressing it for all of us, Brad.

  3. I think that it is for convenience sake. I can get a lot more accomplished without having to do the face to face. However, it is definitely more personable to do that. I can type faster than than explain in orally in words to get my meaning across. But in person is the best method, I would agree.
